Ideal for a relaxed holiday, Serifos is a typical Cycladic island with white villages, quiet harbours, golden beaches, bare hills and beautiful landscapes. The mild growth of tourism has not affected the island’s nature or its traditional features.

The discreet way in which the inhabitants of a typical Cycladic island have built on it with respect for the architectural style of the island, has emphasized the natural beauty of Serifos. Near Athens, 2.5 hours on a speedboat, a little more than four in a regular ship, it is a favoured destination for both brief weekend visits and longer vacations. It is suitable not only for relaxation but also for activities such as walking, climbing, bicycle-riding on the mountain, and diving.
The island is dominated by Hora, built amphitheatrically on a rocky hill, one of the most elegant towns in the Cyclades. It consists of two neighborhoods, Upper (Pano) and Lower (Kato) Hora which are joined together by a stairway. The scene appears to have been arranged with absolute harmony and elegant austerity. The few shops, bars, coffee shops and little tavernas are discreetly situated on narrow streets and appropriate for the surroundings, without dissonances. Ten minutes away on foot is the castle built by the Venetians in the 15th century. The view from there takes your breath away, with the unique blue of the sky and the sea.
The port of Serifos is Livadi, well-built and cared for, and appropriate for walks; just a few meters away from the jetty are cafes, fish tavernas and confectioners, almost on top of the waves.
The morphology of the island is such that its beaches are many and varied: rocky coasts, beaches with fine pebbles or golden sands and of course crystal clear, deep blue waters. Many are accessible by road, while others are approachable either on a path or from the sea. The pride of the island is Psili Ammos, which has received an award as the first among the 20 best beaches in Europe.
The food on Serifos is special and full of scents and flavors, providing gastronomical interest to every visitor to the island.
